Dr Ankit Khanna FRCPCH
Clinical Lead for Paediatrics
Dr Khanna is substantive paediatric consultant based at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust at Pembury, where he is involved in acute and community based paediatric care pathway, including neonates. He attained his paediatric speciality qualifications rotating between Kent and London regions, including postings at Guys & St Thomas’s, Royal Brompton, Royal Free and St Mary’s in London.
He is currently part of networks linked with care & co-ordination of Paediatric Endocrine and Diabetes services regionally. He is actively involved in multi-national projects dedicated to enhancing medical technologies and patient experience interface, especially in Diabetes. He also runs weekly speciality clinics in general as well as specialities, managing children on regular hormonal therapies through outpatients and virtual clinics.
Along with clinical commitments, Dr Khanna has keen interest and involvement is Education and Training. He is Deputy Royal College tutor and Departmental lead in training medical students from Kings College London, St George’s London and international students / work experience placements in trust. He runs regular Simulation sessions for teaching and assessing junior doctors and weekly lectures for Foundation year trainees. Dr Khanna is interview panellist for national speciality recruitments for doctors and most recently he been part of educational & training task-force set-up for instituting new KMMC medical college in Kent.
