Introduction

Modern Slavery is the recruitment, movement, harbouring, receiving women, children, or men through the use of force, coercion, abuse of vulnerability, deception of for any other purpose of exploitation

With Modern Slavery still happening across the country affecting approximately 13,000 victims of trafficking, The Modern Slavery Act 2015 was designed to seek out and eliminate such horrendous crimes of human trafficking, slavery and compulsory labour.

On the 29th October 2015 the Modern Slavery Act came into force.

Statement

This statement is made in accordance with Section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. This statement sets out how MH Recruitment Group Limited operates and the steps taken to minimalize the potential risk of modern slavery in its business and supply chains.

MH Recruitment Group Limited’s policy towards Equal Opportunities will not tolerate any individual, group or organisation who subjects workers to Modern Slavery during their operations. Our work with government run organisations such as the NHS ensures that MH Recruitment Group Limited conforms to regulations set out in legislation directly and as such, is subject to many audits throughout the year ensuring all compliance standards are met.

All clinicians we engage with are vetted according to recruitment guidelines for right to work documentation and working closely with the Home Office when verification is required. We are committed to ensuring CQC compliance standards are met as a minimum, and are maintained by auditing our candidates and through MH Recruitment Group Limited being audited by affiliated framework agreements and the NHS.

Due Diligence

To meet rigorous industry standards, all registered clinicians are taken through our robust on-boarding process. We make this clear to all interested parties and ensure all clinicians are aware of the common standards to which they must adhere to provide services under the MH Recruitment Group Limited name. These standards are achieved through the following steps:

·        Interview

·        Referencing and Employment History

·        Application Form and Handbook Declaration

·        Identity and Right to Work Checks

·        Language Competency Checks

·        Appraisal and Revalidation Reviews

·        Professional Registration Checks (GMC/NMC or other relevant regulatory body)

·        Safeguarding Checks (DBS/PVG)

·        Mandatory Training Checks

·        Fitness to Work Checks

Whilst working in partnership with the NHS and other governing bodies, MH Recruitment Group Limited’s processes are regularly audited gaining continual confidence in our processes and practices. We are committed to ensuring our supply chains and any associated business activities are free from ethical and labour standard abuses. Our policies, procedures, governance and legal arrangements are robust and ensure that our on-boarding and ongoing checks are applied in accordance with our standard employment procedures to ensure compliance with current legislation. Our procedures include (but are not limited to):

·        A standard range of pay per skill set and role for all employees and contracted workers which is set above the National Living Wage

·        Conducting ongoing training for all employees and contracted workers including modules supporting the identification of modern slavery

·        Performing Identity, Qualification and Safeguarding checks on an ongoing basis

·        Confirming right-to-work for all employees and contracted workers

·        Encouraging individuals to raise concerns via our dedicated complaints procedure (available upon request)

·        Protecting whistle-blowers and continually reviewing our whistle-blowing policy (available upon request)

·        Regularly auditing our supply chain to confirm compliance

·        Working closely with our Responsible Officer who engages directly with our clinicians and relevant regulatory bodies

·        Ensuring all parties involved in our supply chain follow the policies and processes as laid out above
